We've recently moved out to the country. Out here, we have several animals, but few neighbors (for now, anyway.) And last night, we had some late-night (2 AM) visitors . They've stopped by before, but this time they stayed a little longer.
Our outside dog, Zillah, alerted me that something was out there. Because I couldn't find a flashlight, and was home alone, I decided to send out the reinforcements, in the form of our two young dogs, Elzie and Berlioz.
Bad idea. All I heard was a lot of growling and barking, and all that I could see was a bit of frantic running and chasing. I decided that I had better bring them back in until I could investigate a little further. With just Zillah still out there, I tried to determine what else was there. I could hear her frantic barking, and in response - some sort of low gutteral growling??
Okay, time to get out the spotlight, this is getting serious. I quickly discovered that the low growl I had been hearing was really more like a..... moo?? And yes, there were three very large cows standing fairly close to our back patio, happily grazing on our already growth-challenged grass.
With the dogs inside, all I could do was wait; I was sure they'd moove on eventually.

hahahaha!! how scary is that!? I'm glad it was nothing worse. welcome to blogging, m'dear!
well, i'm sure what the cows left behind will do nothing but help that grass grow.
Where's the shotgun??? LOL
That would be udderly cruel.
It's really so nice of you all to stop by. I do need to post more often since I have such a base of avid readers, spread all over our dear state.
